Chris,
Thank you for your follow-up. YES!! I still need hams. I will try to get into the net tonight at 2000, but can pretty much guarantee I can't make it from my home on only 5w. Could you also take a look at the routes and let me know if the Cherryville is a good option for coverage?
Here are the details:
· The event is being held at Waterloo Village on June 4, 2017.
· We have several different course lengths – 10 through 75 miles. The courses are as follows:
o 10 miles: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19447512
o 30 miles: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19447877
o 50 miles: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19447879
o 75 miles: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/19447872
o The longest ride goes out first, with a start time of 7:00am. Hams should report to the Control Center (tent on Waterloo Village grounds) by 0645 for a briefing, paperwork, and assignments.
o I need radio operators to ride in SAG vehicles to help direct the driver (or the ham can drive) to the location(s) where riders need assistance.
o Hams can drive their own vehicle if they desire, so long as there is a rack or a place to transport 2-3 bicycles. (I have an extra couple of bike racks if their car has a 2” hitch)
o Gas money and boxed lunches will be provided.
o A full breakfast provided before hams go out on the road, as well as plenty of food on site when they return.
o If a ham is only able to work a partial shift, I will make arrangements with them to accommodate their schedule.
o The last rider is expected back (and the shift will end) around 1400.
