Amateur Radio Event Operating Plan
Event: Washington Crossing Council ScoutFest 2016
Date and Time: Saturday 8 October 2016 - Setup 8AM; Operate 9:30
AM to 3:30PM Local
Purpose: Introduce 4000 Scouts to Amateur Radio by operating a
special event using the K2BSA/2 National Boy Scout Callsign
Location: Hunterdon County Fairgrounds, South County Park, Ringoes,
New Jersey.
GPS address from Google is 1186 New Jersey 179 Lambertville, NJ 08530
The South County Park is located in East and West Amwell Townships at
the junction of Route 179 and 202. This is about one mile south of the
village of Ringoes at the intersection of Route 31 and Route 202.

From Mercer County, drive north on 31 towards Ringoes and pass under
Route 202. Turn left onto Melbourn Lane. Turn left on to County Road
179 South. Pass again under Route 202. Fairgrounds are on the left.
We will be set up by the NW corner of the Grange Building under the
overhang and have a 100 by 100 foot area for antennas. AC Power should
be available but be prepared with a battery pack (Provided by K2GW)
Planned Operation: HF SSB on 40 and 20 meters. Local coordination on
147.57 MHz FM Simplex
Radio Requirements:
100 watt HF Radio with Anderson Powerpoles, portable power supply,
logbook, extension cords, 40 and 20 meter portable antennas, and feed
line. (Provided by operators; K2GW brings back-up)
Other Equipment Requirements:
2 or 3 tables and 6 chairs. Bring one Pop-up shelter just in case.

Cellphone with ability to post spots to DX Cluster (Provided by K2GW)
Staffing Requirements:
6 Amateur Radio Operators. 2 to operate, 2 to conduct initial
orientation, 2 for relief. At least one must be a General or Extra
class Licensee.
