[W2CRA] Field Day!!

All -

Field day is right around the corner.  I hope to see as many of your 
faces as possible.  That said,  my work is once again getting in the way 
of my fun.  I will need to catch a plane on Sunday for a business trip.  
This means that I cannot work the over night  shift and will be 
unavailable to help break down on Sunday.  What this means to you:

  * somebody will have to take my place for the overnight or secure the
    site for the overnight hours.
  * somebody will have to take charge of my networking/logging gear
    until I can pick it up at a later date.
  * somebody will have to take charge of my station, if used, after
    field day for later pickup.
  * Somebody will have to take charge of the club kitchen storage bins. 
    I'd hate to put these in the trailer.

Now for the good stuff.

As tradition dictates, we will gather on Friday down by the trailer 
around 5pm.  If you have a vehicle that we can use to move stuff to the 
Field Day site than that would be great.  We will set up as much of the 
infrastructure as possible.  This would include things like:

  * kitchen tent
  * operator tent
  * generator tent
  * tables
  * etc

On Saturday morning we will return to the site on our about 9am. We will 
set up our stations and antennas.  Fee free to bring your station and 
antenna if you choose.  Otherwise, we will probably loosely stick with 
the antenna plan we reviewed at our last meeting.  At this time we will 
also set up the computers to do the logging.  Since I need to take my PC 
on Sunday we might need an extra.

At 2PM on Saturday the Field Day event will begin.  Please make sure 
that our Tech class operators have some room to operate and experience 
some HF operation.  Operation will and at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.  At 
this time, we can use all the help we can get to break the site down and 
return everything to the trailer.  Many of will be tired at this point.  
It is important that we get as many hands helping out with the break 
down as possible to make the work easier.


Kudos to Nicole, KD2DFH.  She facilitated a food donation from Shop Rite 
that should feed us all.  Here is what she has:

  * 6 bags of ice
  * 2 24 ct Water
  * 24 hot dogs
  * sour Kraut (sp.?)
  * mustard
  * catsup
  * 24 Hot Dog buns
  * 24 ham burgers
  * 24 ham burger buns
  * 4 bags of potato chips
  * 2 bags pretzels
  * 1 veggie platter

We will need coolers for the ice and water.  It would be nice of some of 
you can bring additional food to supplement the above. Maybe the famous 
WB1GOT chili?  We can also use some sodas and/or iced tea.
