[W2CRA] CRA: Yaesu DR1-X Repeater for Mt. Kipp

All,

Some of you have heard of this, others not, hence this post.

I was approached by Bob, N2ZAV concerning a donation to replace the Mt. Kipp 446.475 repeater with a Yaesu DR1-X dual
mode repeater (

The repeater will be operated in the Fusion (dual) mode: digital in, digital out / analog in - analog out, one at a
time, of course.  It will be eventually re-linked (analog only) with the Mt. Kipp 220 repeater.

The repeater has been ordered with an estimated delivery of 8 weeks, mostly due to the West coast dockworkers strike.
The repeater is being purchased with individual donations - NOT with club money.  The ultimate ownership of the repeater
will remain with the donors but the repeater on "permanent loan" to CRA.

To date we have received $225 in donations with pledges for an additional $450.  This, of course comes to more than the
$500 cost of the repeater but the external controller interface is an additional $175 bringing the total cost to $675.
Donations exceeding the required $675 will be used to "normalize" the donations; that is, equalize everyone's donations
to the same value.
With the 5 current donors, the current equalized cost is $135 per donor.  For 6 it is $112, 7 is $96 and 8 is $85.
At close-out (date = ???) those who donated in excess of the equalized cost will receive a refund.
When we receive the repeater a brass plaque will be permanently attached inscribed with the call of the donors.
