Field Day is almost upon us, and our co-chairmen AC2BH and KR2C have put together our operating plans and reviewed them with us at the meeting on June 14.  As is typical with Murphy's constant presence, we have already had to make some changes to our plans!  Our leadership team, Glenn & Kurt, cannot be present on Friday afternoon/evening for setup, so I have taken on the role of leader for that aspect.  Glenn has indicated that he will likely not be present all weekend, as his father is ill and requires his assistance.  Kurt will be present as early as he can be on Saturday, however, he has family obligations that will keep him from arriving at the suggested Saturday morning start time., so I will also be leading the Saturday morning effort.  Kurt will assume leadership upon his arrival.
 
Our Friday afternoon tasks will be primarily the setup of the two club tents, the canopy, and if our time and manpower allows, we will set up one or more of our antennas.  Completion of the antenna installations, setup of operating positions, and on air testing will take place on Saturday morning beginning at 09:00 AM.  
 
We will need everyone's help to make our effort a success, and I ask all of our members to come out this weekend and spend at least an hour operating on the air with us!  We will not have Sid, K2TB, with us this year, so we need others to make up for that.  We definitely need folks to operate.  If you are a CW op, we can especially use you!  
 
I will be looking forward to seeing as many of you as can make it to setup on Friday evening beginning at 4:00 PM.  If you can't make it at 4:00, that is okay.  Come as early as you can to lend a hand.  The more hands we have Friday evening, the less we have to do Saturday morning!  To paraphrase a historical phrase from many years ago, "W2CRA Wants YOU!"

Despite the loss of our voluntary leaders support for setup and early Saturday, we will succeed in our goal to beat our 2012 Field Day score.  You can help us make that happen!  Be a part of that success!
