Hello Cherryville!
 
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer so far!  Our July meeting is tomorrow night, and I hope to see all of you there!  We have gotten through the first six months of 2013, including the March of Dimes Walk, the Hamfest, Field Day, and the Lebanon Parade.  Each of these events was completed successfully with our usual small turnout.  
 
Still to come between now and the end of the year are the Hunterdon County 4H & Agricultural Fair the week before Labor Day, the Skylands Triathlon on September 8, the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, and the Awards/Holiday Dinner in Decemer.  All of us look forward to completing this year's obligations, and we will do so, but wouldn't it be nice to say we recruited some new members before the end of the year?  I for one would sure like to see some new faces coming to meetings and out to help us with events.  How about you?
 
One of our best opportunities to atttract public attention to our organization and introduce amateur radio to the publiic is at the Hunterdon County Fair.  This is a great opportunity to showcase what all of us love to do and to tell people about Cherryville!  To do that, we need every person in the club to give time to support the club display at the fair.  I have put forward a request to have our tent located in a better spot and hope that in doing so, we can attract more people to stop in and visit.  
 
Cherryville NEEDS to have new members, and the only way we will get them is if we go out as a group and publicize ourselves.  This is our one opportunity to see the public directly and for them to see us.  I will be soliciting members to sign up to support this weeklong event at our July and August meetings, but unless we get enough volunteers this month to have a core group, we will have no choice but not to participate.  We cannot afford to go in that direction, especially if we aim to draw in new members.  You can make this happen.  Are you willing to step up and help the club grow?  We need YOU!
