Hello Cherryville!

Hope everyone survived 2013's first significant winter storm!  Sorry we could not have our meeting, but your safety outweighed our need as a club to hold a face to face meeting.  As I stated in the meeting cancellation mail I sent yesterday, I want to update you on some club business.

1.  The 2013 Annual CRA II Hamfest will be held this year on Saturday May 11, 2013 at North Hunterdon High School.  Setup will be done Friday May 10, 2013 beginning at 6:00 PM.  The help of all members is expected on both Friday night and Saturday.  We will also be holding our monthly club meeting at the high school that evening.  Please put this date on your calendar now to reserve the dates, and contact me with your preference of tasks for that day.  We will need people for:

Traffic/parking
Ticket sales
Inside security
Vendor assistance
Food service
Club table
VE Testing

Please let me know how you will help us make this the most successful CRA Hamfest in recent history!

2.  Hunterdon County will be replacing the older tower at the 911 Center this summer.  During that process, our .375 transmitter and the 444.850 machine will be relocated into the County's transmitter building into new secure cabinets that were donated to the club.  During the transition, .375 will operate as a single site (Cherryville Receiver only) machine.  During this time, work will also be performed on the control site.  We are also planning to replace the remote receive packages at a later date.

3.  Once again, it is time for nominations for 2013 club elections.  Positions up for election are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and two Board Members at Large.  If you have any interest in running for one of these positions, or have a potential nominee for a position, please contact the 2013 Elections Committee: Roberto, K2PA; Tom, NU2W; or Doug, KB2ZZW.  Nominations must be completed by the close of the March meeting so that ballots can be prepared and sent out to the membership, so make your nominations now!

4.  My personal thanks to our new Hunterdon County ARES Coordinator, Doug, KB2ZZW for the communications response that he coordinated in support of the search for a missing Lambertville woman and for communications support provided the evening of the memorial for her.  Doug got his baptism as ARES Coordinator with a huge challenge and he came through it successfully!  Doug will be presenting at an upcoming meeting on ARES and his direction for the group.

The next club meeting will be held on Friday March 8, 2013 at 7:30 PM at the Flemington Baptist Church auxiliary fellowship hall.  Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Best Regards,

Bob Grear, KA2OEE
Your President
