It is once again meeting week, and my message is not only to remind you to come to our monthly meeting on Friday, but also to ask for some creative thinking from you!
 
Was recently reading the ham ads on one of the online posting sites and saw the following exerpt from an ad for the 
25th Annual Bangor (Maine) Hamfest.
 
As part of the attractions at their hamfest, they list the following:
 
* The Ham Band  (Assume this is a musical group made up of ham operators)
 
* VE Exams for all classes - 9 AM  (CRA already does this....)
 
* QSL Award Checking (CRA needs to bring this back)
 
Now here are a few interesting and creative ideas:
* High-altitude Balloon Launch w/cross-band repeater, video & APRS
* R/C Airplane Flights
* On-site Fox Hunt
 
* Dealers (CRA has some but sure could use more)
 
* Food (CRA needs to work on how we do this more efficiently)
 
* Several Prize Drawings Including tailgaters & Greatest Distance (anybody got any other prize ideas?)
 
* Exhibits (I am open to suggestions on types of exhibits and topics for seminars/discussions)
 
* Talk-in on 146.940 100 Hz  (CRA provides this service)
* Info and directions at www.n1me.org (We put up info on our web page.  I am open to suggestions for updates to the CRA page)

The creative thinking I need from the membership is to come up with some ideas for improving our hamfest.  The input of every member will be reviewed and all suggestions considered.  Your ideas will help make our hamfest even more successful.  A wise man once said "The only stupid questions are the ones you never ask..."  I would modify that to suggest that nobody's suggestions should be considered stupid.  The success of the club depends on your suggestions to make improvements.  
 
Speak to me at the club meeting, call me on the repeater, send me an e-mail.  Or speak to one of the other officers or members at large.  Your input is important.  Make it heard!
