It looks like this is the way that Field Day is shaping up for W2CRA:
The Field Day Plan:
14:00 EST, Friday, June 22, 2012
Set-up begins. We will be setting up four transmitting stations. I will be at the site early and mark where the tents, etc. should go with orange chalk lines.
Single-Sideband Stations: “A” will be 10M during the day and 80M at night, “B” will be 15M during the day and 40M at night
CW/Digital Stations: “C” is 10M (80M at night), “D” is 15m (40M at night)
VHF & GOTA (Get On The Air) Stations: GOTA will operate on 20M. When not in use as the GOTA ststion, it may be used for 20M contacts, day or night.
14:00 EST, Saturday, June 23, 2012
Operations Begin!! - licensed ham operators will begin communications on SSB-Phone, CW, and VHF. Unlicense and/or inexperienced hams will begin communications on the GOTA station under the supervision of a GOTA Coach.
Public Relations - Some hams cringe at the thought of a news reporter watching/listening to them make a QSO. The fact is, it's one of the fastest ways to get more people involved in the hobby and more members to local area clubs. The current plan is to talk to local radio stations and news services and invite them to the Field Day site on Saturday late afternoon. In addition, local elected officials (read: “Freeholders”), other government officials, and served agencies have been invited to the site. Designated people will be talking to the press so nobody will interfere with our QSO's.
12:00 EST, Sunday, June 24, 2012
Operations Cease - We will be terminating communications and beginning tear-down of the stations and associated antennas. We will need plenty of extra hands to help out with this activity.
in addition: It looks like Saturday evening will be a CLUB PICNIC day. People are starting to volunteer dishes for the feast so let's call it the Cherryville POTLUCK supper and celebrate!
Whether you plan on operating or not, come out on Saturday afternoon (around 5:30) and bring a covered dish.
We have soda, bottled water, a big salad (thank you Sandra) Pastries (from HAMFEST) and some other goodies coming (Thanks Tom).
Let us know what you'll be brining so we can prepare and plan as necessary. Email eith Kurt, KR2C or Glenn, AC2BH.
