Why does time seem to drag most of the time but sometimes it just flys by?  It just seems like a week ago that we had our last meeting, and here it is already time for the next one!  Yes, it is meeting week again!
 
I am looking forward to seeing all of you at the club meeting this Friday evening.  During the meeting, we will be discussing several topics of interest.  I am looking for volunteers to step forward and fill out a couple of standing committees.  They include:
 
Hospitality Committee:  Provides a "greeter" at each meeting to welcome members and visitors.  Provides coffee & cookies for after the meeting.
 
Holiday Party/Awards Dinner:  Plans and coordinates the annual event at the December meeting
 
Publicity:  Makes contact with news media (newspapers, cable TV, etc) to get CRA's name in front of the public
 
Do you have an interest in one of these areas?  Give it some thought and volunteer Friday night!
 
Following the Friday meeting, Glenn, AC2BH, will have a presentation on basic message handling.  This is something we should all be at least familiar with in the event we are called upon to handle this very important task during an emergency.  Glenn's presentations are always interesting and welcome, and who knows?  Maybe he will offer a Hershey Bar to the first club member who delivers a formal message via ham radio!
 
Hope to see a good crowd at the meeting, and don't forget the 2012 Annual Picnic on Saturday.  If you have not contacted Skip or Tom with an RSVP, now is the time to do it!  If we don't have enough positive responses, we will have to cancel the event.  I know it is summer, and it is hot outside, but you only need to drop in for an hour or two and enjoy some food and beverage and the company of fellow members and their families!
