[W2CRA] W2CRA Field Day.

Hello all,

Planning for Field Day is under way.  Glenn AC2BH and myself, Kurt KR2C 
are organizing the event. As always, we need your help to make this 
effort successful.  We need your help.  Below is a list of areas the 
club would like your assistance with.  Right now we are looking for 
volunteers to manage the organization of these areas.  If you choose to 
manage one of these groups we are not expecting you to take on the 
responsibility of completing all these tasks.  What we would like you to 
do is to oversee getting club members or others to assist you to 
complete these tasks.  We need all club members to share the burden.

If you choose not to help us manage one of these groups and you would 
still like to help, please review to descriptions below and let us know 
what you might be able to help with.  If you are interested in helping 
us set up or tear down the event we would also like to hear from you.  
And while we are at it, if you would like to operate ate the event or 
know of anybody who would like to operate, drop us a note.

This event is fun for everybody.  It's even more fun when we have lots 
of help and operators.  Everybody is welcome.  Bring a friend.


*Site Management*

       * Secure permission for the field day site on the days of our event.
       * Arrange to get the trailer moved to the event site or organize 
members with
         pickups to move needed "stuff" to the event site.
       * Ensure that we have the necessary towers/poles and equipment to
         raise antennas. (work with Station captain on what is needed)
       * Arrange for generators and gasoline
       * Plan for shelter. tents/campers/landscape trailer, etc.....
       * Lock down plan for over night unused gear
       * Arrange for funding for generator rentals and gas
       * Get gear back to trailer

        * Arrange for a "port-a-potty" for Field Day use
        * Interface to the ARRL


*Food*

       * Solicit donations of food or money for event
       * Make sure Grill is in working order and has propane
       * Water or drink for Build up/ Tear Down
       * Coffee/donuts for Saturday and Sunday Morning mornings operators
       * Hotdogs/hamburgers for lunch/ dinner
       * Garbage removal from site

         *Arrange and organize club member to contribute food for the group.

*Station*

       * Plan for operation stations.  What class will we run for the event?
       * Plan for antennas.  beams? dipoles? verticals?  combination?
       * GOTA Station
       * Station modes.  SSB/PSK/RTTY/CW VHF or Satelite
       * Work with Facility captain on site layout and hookups

*Build Up/Tear Down*

       * Organize manpower necessary to build Field Day site
       * Work with Facilities captain on getting needed equipment from
         trailer to site
       * Assisted with obtaining forgotten resources during the event
       * Organize manpower to tear down site at the end of the event.
       * Work with Facilities captain to get gear back to trailer

*Organization*

       * Work with all captains to help organize the event
       * Advertise our event to the public.
       * Work the Station captain with the GOTA station
       * Develop an operator schedule

I'm sure that there is a bunch that I missed.  Again, I'm looking to be
"Elmered" here by the veterans.  We can always add to the list.  Field
Day will soon be upon us.  let me know as soon as you can how you can
help out.
