Hello Cherryville Members!!

In case you hadn't noticed in the last 48 hours or so, the .375 machine has heen hit with not one but two power supply failures.  As a result, the machine has been off the air.  Our Technical Committee Chairman, Bill WB1GOT, is in the process of getting replacements for the power supplies, but that is going to take some time.  Rest assured that he and the Board are diligently working to resolve this and restore service.

Bill has contacted me to request the help of the members to take care of some work that needs to be completed in order to put the machine back on the air.  He would like to have the help of several members this Saturday, July 30 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM (or until it gets too hot to work) and again on Sunday, July 31 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM (until done or too hot).  Volunteers need to bring gloves and a length of garden hose if you have it.  Work will take place at the main transmitter site in Cherryville at the County dispatch center.

If you are available to help on one or both days, please respond by e-mail to me at ka2oee at yahoo.com or to Bill at whp at att.net not later than Friday evening July 29.

This work is ESSENTIAL if we are to get the .375 machine back on the air in a timely manner!  Folks, this is YOUR repeater.  Bill cannot do it alone.  If you want the machine back on the air sooner than later, PLEASE put forth some time to help!!

If you have questions, feel free to contact me or Bill.

Thanks

Bob Grear
