Good Morning, Cherryville!
As of Monday morning, 5/24, we have enough volunteers (10) to get W2CRA on the air as a class 2A club for FIELD DAY, 2010.  With that number, I expect that we can, effectively, operate a SSB phone station, a CW station and a GOTA/VHF station for a total of four hours on Saturday (6/26) and, again, on Sunday (6/27) or 8 hours in all.

I would like to see us operate for a full 24 hours as a class 3A with GOTA station but to do that we would need at least 22 volunteers, each one coming to our site (by the county complex on route 12) for two, four-hour 'shifts'.

So here's the deal:
Now is the time for all good hams to come to the aid of their club!
If you haven't volunteered yet, please, let me know if I can count on you...

I'd like to get the club on the air for 24 hours but I need to have four volunteers on site at all times in order to do that (two operators plus two assistants/logistic people) ESPECIALLY OVERNIGHT from Satruday to Sunday.

I need extra people for setup and breakdown.

I need people who will take care of food and snacks.

And, of course, I need people who will bring radios for the clubs use. (I have three HF rigs that I can count on, I'd like four).

Below the line, you'll find the first draft of our operating plan. Give me suggestions. It's not finished yet and I KNOW I'm forgetting things...

thanks for your support,
Glenn AC2BH

W2CRA Operations plan for Field Day 2010:

Concept of Operations:
We will be operating in class 3A from 1400hrs (lcl) Saturday thru 1200 hrs (lcl) Sunday. The 22 hr operating time makes allowances for members who’ve volunteered for the Sunday Bicycle event in Flemington (and the small group of volunteers).

We will set up four stations:
Stations A&B will be SSB Phone with wire fan dipole antennas for 80M, 40M, & 20 M
Station C will be CW with a vertical antenna
Station D will be the VHF & GOTA (Get On The Air) station for 15M and up.

There will be a “hospitality tent” with tables, chairs, and the club’s grill. We will be serving picnic fare from late afternoon thru evening on Saturday. We will have soda, water, and rocket fuel (COFFEE) available.
