[W2CRA] This Friday's Meeting

Hello, Ladies & Gentlemen 



Did you know that I consider a club, like ours, to be like a family? 



We are brought together by a common interest, like cousins I suppose, we all share a common bond and respect for one another. When times get tough, we work all the harder, together, to work things out. 



As your president I feel, some what, as a failure. I've failed to inspire and guide you through these difficult years. 



Like a family, when money is tight we a feel disappointed and disillusioned. We have not: replaced the failing batteries, we have not modernized or accessorized out repeater system, we haven't purchased a trailer for events and we still don't have a trailer mounted antenna mast system, we don't have a banner, we no longer have a coffee break, don't see many presentations and lets face it field day has been so damn disappointing, almost no one can find the time to show up! 



I guess it's no accident that elections and Hamfest are so close to each other. This year unlike last, we've secured a date for the Hamfest early and with Pat's N2VF and Bill's WB1GOT help we even have a favorable rent! 



Now here is the problem, with the exception of one person, no one has stepped up to fill any position. Now I know that people like George will step up and do the jobs they've done in the passed so well, again but, it's what 2 months to go we have no table sales, no vendors, no advertising, no food sales and only the board working? 



This situation begs me to ask several questions: 

Do you want and need a new president? 

Should we cancel the Hamfest? 

Should we even remain a club anymore? 



Let's not banter these questions via email, please come to this Friday's meeting and lets make some decisions. 



Many of our passed members will see this email and the Uplink news letters, it would be nice to see you too!
