   I talked to Walter this afternoon. He will
likely be in the hospital for a week or two,
another operation is scheduled for Friday, then a
couple months of physical therapy. He'll be in a
wheel chair for a while, is having ramps built at
his house so he can get around. He also broke his
left arm--both bones, plus a few ribs. He says the
ribs hurt the worst. He apparently has a lot of
pins and rods holding him together! 
   Anyway, he can see visitors, is at Morristown
Memorial in the Meade wing. It sounds like he is
very lucky to be alive. I also asked if Bear was
with him--his beloved dog who goes everywhere with
him--and yes, he had a friend who lived four
blocks away come rescue Bear until he could be
given over to Walter's parents, where he is
residing now. 
   That's as much as I know at this time.
