What a great surprise! When I got home late today
there were several responses to my post of this
morning about John, W2GD. Near the top was one
from John himself! He asked if I would post the
information in his email response, so here it is:

I heard from N2NO.
This is my understanding of what happened.
John is doing pretty good considering.
(update....better than I expected... had a good
night Friday)
He is up in Maine doing a 4 tower install. for
K8PO.....Paul and Doug K1DG have been by to see me
everyday. My son Nick is here too.
They had the first 30' of a pin tower 45G up.
John was on top. While bringing up the next
section, temp. guy rope elongated some, the tower
came over in slow motion....tower then slipped off
peer pin. I saw it all in slowmo.
John rode the tower down 30' landing on his back
in a mud muddle which broke his fall some, the
tower landed across his pelvis where he was
strapped on.
He's since had surgery to stop internal bleeding,
they put in 28 wire plugs to stop the bleeding.
There some damage to a vibrate, number T 12.
They've fitted me with a back brace.
Several cracked bones in his pelvis, to right
front and left rear. Surgury is coming on monday
morning. There is NO paralysis at all to his
extermities and no head damage. He was conscious
during the entire event.
He's been in ICU most of the time but likely will
be moved later today to a semi private room later,
thankfully ICU care is not needed now.
He's a lucky lucky man!!!!!! (YES I AM...GD)
