There are some news items about the club in which
you may be interested:
1. Roger Long, WB2VBN is in the Lehigh Valley
Hospital trauma unit. He apparently fell and
struck his head on a tile floor and apparently hit
his head hard enough to cause a skull fracture and
subsequent brain damage. He is in a coma, and
prayers are requested for his recovery.
Those of you who have participated in the
Tuesday evening HF Nets may remember Roger for his
frequent participation. We wish him well!
2. You won't want to miss this month's (September
14) meeting. Frank Brickle, AB2KT will be the
program speaker. He'll be talking about and
demonstrating Software Defined Radios, and it
sounds like a fascinating session! Meeting starts
at 7:30, some special refreshments are being
prepared, and then Frank will give his
presentation. See you there.
3. Pete Sneed, K2YSY has retired, and moved to
Maine. His tower is down and sold (Won't tell you
to whom...) and Pete's in his new digs up north.
Hope he enjoyed the two-week summer and is looking
forward to the winter. Hope he also got a new
tower up before winter comes!
4. Don't forget Skylands is coming up in a week
and a half, Sunday, September 16. Thanks to those
who replied to my email, and if you haven't yet
done so, let me know if you can attend and if you
have a preference for a particular location. In
addition to the list I sent in the previous email,
there are also posts at the PA announcer, at the
boat dock, and if one wants to do so, I think the
offer is still there to ride the car in front of
the bikes! Let me know!
That's it for now, but our prayers go out to
Roger and his wife Rosleen.
73, Barry K2BC
