The Cherryville Hamfest is just a few days away!
The sign-ups from the last two meetings have been good, but more help is
needed. Specifically, we need additional help on security and parking. I
also really need two or three more people to help Bill on vendor table
check-in and unloading coordination. I am also in need of talk-in personnel,
especially very early, when vendors are arriving and looking for directions.
For those of you VE's who plan to be in the VE session, you help early
would really be appreciated. Marty, for example, is working security before
the VE session. If you don't have a specific assignment request but can just
be available, let me know because we can use you for relief to spell some of
the other posts.
It looks like a good number of you will be there for setup on Friday
night, and that's great, the setup will go a lot quicker with more
attending. Don't forget we will also have a short club meeting at the setup.

One other request: If you have or know of any high school guys who would
be willing to help vendors unload and load again, please encourage them to
come down. There will be a stipend this year for those who come and help get
the vendors in and out. Let me know by email if you will have such a person
available.
I also note there aren't as many on the cleanup side as there are on
setup. We do need a good crew for cleanup! It goes very quickly if enough
people participate.
   Again, here are the particulars:
SETUP-
Friday, March 10, beginning about 4:00 pm at the North Hunterdon Regional
High School. We should be concluded by 6:30 or seven, hold a short business
meeting, then get some sleep for the next day.

HAMFEST 06
   Saturday, March 11.
5:00 a.m. - Arrive at the school, talk in starts, security, etc. All
participants are asked to be there by 5:30 at least.
6:00 a.m. - Vendors begin setting up their tables. Express check in for
the Pre-Registered vendors (That's why we need additional help for Bill and
the vendor tables.
8:00 a.m. - Gates open to buyers. Be sure to buy a buyer ticket if you
want a chance to win a prize.
Approx. 12:00 or 1:00, vendors begin their departure. Technically they
are supposed to be there until 2:00, but they will decide for themselves if
the number of buyers warrants staying longer than noon.
Around 1:00 - begin the clean up process. Mostly replacing tables and
chairs in the cafeteria and getting the rental tables out to the truck.
Probably between 2:00 and 3:00 we'll be completed and head for home and a
nap!

Please let me know by email if you have not signed up yet and can sign up
to be there. Let me know if you have a specific duty you want, or will just
be available. Be sure to bring your HT with you! The club repeater (.375)
will be the talkin, and we have a separate simplex frequency we use for
internal communications.
Also bear in mind that club members are obligated to pay for food, but
you can have coffee for free. (I'll hear from Elaine if I'm wrong on that
one!)
My email address is above, or barrycam at earthlink.net if you have
questions or just to let me know you'll be there!

If we all push together, we'll have a great hamfest. This is our major
fundraiser for the year, and we need you help to make it a success!
73, and SEE YOU AT THE HAMFEST!
