[W2CRA] Skyland Triathlon Date

The Skyland Triathlon date is Sunday September 17th.  The triathlon starts in Spruce Run State Park near the parking lot across from the Bath Houses. 

I will need your help in making this a successful communication event!  I need a total of 20 operators to cover the event.  If you have worked the event before and have a location that you want to cover, please send me an email at tmclaughl at att.com so that I can make a note of your assignment.  Or sign up at the next Club meeting.  Otherwise, we will meet in the parking lot.  Please be there by 8:00.  The triathlon ends around 1:00 pm.

The triathlon starts around 9:00 with a 1 mile swim, then a bike race, followed by a 5K run.  Radio operators are need to cover key intersections along the bike race as well as several places within the park.  This is a very good opportunity to sharpen your communication skills as well as help to get amateur radio and Cherryville some publicity.  

There is a free lunch after the triathlon (hot dogs, pasta and cold drinks!).

I will have a sign up sheet at the next Club meeting or you can send me an email.  This is a fun event!  Remember it takes a lot of operators to make this a success!
