Fellow club members,

As you may, or may not know, it's annual election time.

That mentioned, it is also necessary to mention that, to the best of my knowledge, there are NO candidates. Not a single person has come forward to any of the board members to place his/her name on the slate or nominate another.
Not one!

Yes - we all have time pressures these days but there is very little time required to manage the club - less than 3 hours a month over two evenings.

The ultimate impact of not having a slate of candidates is that the outgoing board will be forced to dissolve the club, shut down, disassemble and sell the repeaters, return the coordinated frequencies and donate all proceeds to a non-ham 501c3 group.

I can assure you that there will NOT be another repeater coordinated in / to Hunterdon county for a L O N G time and any that do manage to go up will be closed systems. So - NO frequencies!

Then, there's the matter of where do you put a repeater, let alone a system? We are on some VERY expensive real-estate (towers) by the simple grace of the owners. Once we're gone, our tower space is worth $800 per month in tower revenue. It is HIGHLY unlikely that ANYONE is going to get tower space for free anymore!

Finally, state of the art repeater equipment, for JUST a single site repeater, will cost at least $5000 to $7000 unless it's made out of "ham junk". WHO is going to foot that bill?

So - you all have some decisions to make:
 - Run for office,
 - Nominate someone who is willing
 - Sit on your duff and CAUSE the club, and it's rich history, to go down the tubes.
