Gentlemen

I'm ironing out some questions and details, I'll be meeting with site
representatives, the Health Department and attending one more TopOff
organizational meeting before the event but not before the Saturday meeting.

The site we'll cover are as follows:

1) The County EOC (Net Control) 3 people
2) The County Health Department (main site 1) 4 people [POD 1*]
3) Hunterdon Central High School (main site 2) 4 people [POD 2*]
4) 3M Corporation (main site 3) 4 people
5) Hunterdon Medical Center (main site 4) 4 people
6) Central Dispatch, Hunterdon County Link Bus (support position) 2 people
7) Command 86 (support position) 2 people

* POD stands for "Point of Distribution"

We need 19 people deployed, we need a PIO (Walter) to visit all sites
during the drill, I'll need to have a floater (me) problem solving (I'll
probably spend most of that time between PODs 1 & 2 and we need back up
people (this is what I want as minimum staffing, there's room for more!)
If we include at least 1 more back up team of 4, we'll need a minimum of
25 people.

Transmitters, antennas, power supplies and coax:
 1) The County EOC is covered
2) The County Health Department needs; 1 transmitter, power supply and
coax jumper cable.
3) Hunterdon Central High School needs; 1 transmitter, power supply,
coax a way to mount an antenna and antenna.
4) 3M Corporation needs; 1 transmitter, power supply, coax a way to
mount an antenna and antenna.
5) Hunterdon Medical Center is covered? I hope, they used to have
everything we'll need.
6) Central Dispatch needs; 1 transmitter, power supply, coax a way to
mount an antenna and antenna.
7) Command 86, equipment needs are met here but the designated operator
may want closed headphones due to the noise level.

And what about the possibility of demonstrating digital communications,
the EOC has enough equipment and I have a portable station, that should
be enough, more would be nice but not possible???

Site to site communications should (needs to be) higher power like
mobile rigs with power supplies and on site communications where
necessary can be with HTs / simplex!

Resources we have right now:

The EOC has two mobile rigs, no additional power supplies, antennas
(Roberto, I know!) coax or antenna mounting supplies.
I have a complete mobile phone communication system and complete mobile
digital communication system.

Barry, at talk in you had two mobile radios and antennas (one wire and
one mag mount mobile) and a power supply, I understand that
circumstances may prevent you from attending but, may we borrow some of
that?

Remember, there will be CERT Team participation using up some RACES &
ARES members but THAT WILL NOT BE ON HAM RADIO, can any of you offer any
equipment to this drill?

This is the first time RACES is being asked to support Professional
Personnel and not municipalities, it's extremely important to do well
here, I know we can, we just need to be organized and professional.

Thank you all! My Cell phone number is: 908-246-2555

Respectfully
Michael Varas, KC2CMC

PS: Don't forget Saturday's meeting at the EOC at 12:00 and Roberto's
phone number (if your attending) is 908-788-8253
