Reminder to all

This Saturday is the Hunterdon County RACES Drill, 9/6/03, the drill is
to kick off at 9:00 am, it is not clear which repeater will be used,
possibly both will be needed.

Hunterdon County, in part, supports our Club's efforts by providing a
second repeater (147.015) and we can and should support their efforts to
protect the community by doing what we do best, Communication Support
for this drill.

Remember out motto; " Community Service Through Communication "

The Drills official start time is 9:00 am and it should last until 2:00
pm, you should arrive at you posts at 8:30 am and check into net
control as soon as your able.

You'll need your IDs, photo copy of your Amateur Radio License, Hand
Held Transceivers (2m) with gain antennas and spare batteries, food and
water for the day, you'll also need a writing pad and pencil/pen (you
need to keep a log). Experienced people have been paired with less
experienced people where ever possible for training, please work
together seamlessly.

Don't discuss what your doing with people in general (including the
press) when it comes to the Drill itself, this may also be part of the
test and training.

We will use Tactical Call Signs for all positions, net control will be
responsible for all the necessary FCC reporting requirements.

Do not criticize any one or anything on the air, people WILL be listening!

Do not use peoples names on the air, example; the name or phone numbers
of victims!

Keep notes of your observations for a later discussions about the drill
and be specific about any problems you encounter in the performance of
your job.

This should be a sobering example of what could happen in this
community, this drill is compressed which means what might happen over
several days will be addressed in several hours so, keep your cool,
prioritize your messages and take the time to get it right. It won't
mean anything if the wrong message is received.

I thank you all, in advance for your support and involvement!

The staging area for people awaiting assignments is the parking lot off
Bloomfield Avenue between Main Street and Broad Street.
Take Main Street into town, make a right hand turn onto Bloomfield
Avenue (after the Union Hotel) and the parking lot entrance is on you
left about 50 to 75 feet down the road.
