This is for RACES Members or any one considering becoming one.
It's been almost 1 year since September 11, 2001 and as RACES
Coordinator in Hunterdon County, I've heard nothing about how things may
change. In the long run I hope they define a role for us in Home
Defense as well but, until they do we must keep our skills sharp as
communicators.
We have two upcoming opportunities:
We have a small county exercise on the evening of September 9, 2002 at
19:00 hrs. Roberto and I will Call a Formal Net on the 147.375 repeater
if it's open or use the 147.015 repeater as an alternate, we have been
told that we may have up to 6 Municipal EOCs to operate from and we are
asking for volunteers to operate those stations. All volunteers will
have to bring there own equipment because we do not know yet, which EOCs
we'll be operating from. I would like all RACES members to be on the
air that night, we will have a role call. This exercise will be much
like the one done two years ago where we provided communications between
the County EOC and the Municipal EOC Coordinators.
This club and all it's members have always been professionals, I have
always been proud of your professionalism, excited by your enthusiasm
and thrilled with your helpfulness and support, Thank You!

Second I've included a recent E mail from Marty Grozinski, W2CG
I will support the Warren County event anyway I can because in a pinch,
they'll help us,
Our membership in the Hunterdon County RACES is larger then in Warren
County, this is a chance to see how other people operate and get some
new ideas as well.
When you pledge your help to Warren County please let Roberto or me
know, as you can well imagine there is allot of good reasons to keep a list.
Thank you
