My presentation will be on the “outside the box approach” we use to bridge Ham Radio and Public Service to manage incidents in Lincoln County Maine. Noted in this are tasks that can be done VIA lightly trained Ham Radio Operators of an ARES/RACES group and how these will lighten the load on the responding agencies. As Radio Operators we need to have the knowledge and tools to be able to modify a Comm Plan on the fly, what worked last time will surely not work this time is the approach I typically take. Tools that we have built and tested in the field could be implemented within other organizations in the Emergency Response/Management world.
