All RACES/ACS Communication Team Members:

I am forwarding to you all a message from Rob Macedo, KD1CY, our Section Emergency Coordinator regarding an exercise that will be conducted tomorrow, Saturday May 30th. His e-mail contains a link to a page that includes the exercise document. The exercise is in conjunction with a national Red Cross exercise and has been put together by Frank O'Laughlin. For those of you who may not know, Frank has a very impressive resume when it comes to designing and implementing training exercises and his drills are always great learning and practicing opportunities.
While Region #2 HQ will not be participating in this drill from the interim HQ office, I encourage all RACES/ACS and ARES operators to read the drill document and participate if possible to make the most of this opportunity. A recent meeting with the Region #2 leadership and technical personnel regarding antenna and radio placement at the Interim Region #2 HQ in New Bedford has me quite optimistic that we will be able to get WC1MAB back on the air for activities like this one in the not too distant future.

Of particular interest is the digital communications tools being exercised as this may provide a very efficient means of moving information across the region and between EOCs in the event of a WebEOC failure or operators who may not have WebEOC access.

Anyone with questions or comments about this event, please contact me via this e-mail address or by phone at 386-566-7666.

Hello to all...
Here is the updated exercise plan for tomorrow:https://ema.arrl.org/2020/05/29/updated-eastern-massachusetts-ares-to-participate-in-national-red-cross-exercise-and-wx4nhc-on-air-test-saturday-may-30th-2020/
I'll be active monitoring the 147000-Dartmouth Repeater starting at 1000 AM. Due to a last minute personal conflict, I will need to drop off 147000 at 1030 AM. The 147.18-Bridgewater Repeater will be active and I will potentially connect the 147000-Dartmouth Repeater to the New England Echolink/IRLP system for the rest of the exercise. Looking forward to talking with many of you Saturday Morning. Thanks!
