Warning from the USAF at channel  A malicious website pretending to be the live map for Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases by Johns Hopkins University is circulating on the internet waiting for unwitting internet users to visit the website (corona-virus-map[dot]com). Visiting the website infects the user with the AZORult trojan, an information stealing program which can exfiltrate a variety of sensitive data. It is likely being spread via infected email attachments, malicious online advertisements, and social engineering.
Furthermore, anyone searching the internet for a Coronavirus map could unwittingly navigate to this malicious website.

Corona Virus COVID-19 Town Hall Notice March 14, 2020

COVID-19

Dear Norton residents and businesses,

The situation concerning COVID-19 is an ever-evolving one. Things are changing from day-to-day. Please continue to monitor the Town of Norton website and Facebook page for updates and closures.

TOWN HALL
As of today, Town Hall is still open for business. We ask the following:

• Limit visits to the Town Hall as much as possible to the essential business that cannot wait 30 days to address.
• Apply for permits or make payments online. If you cannot make payments online, please utilize the drop box at the front entrance to the Town Hall.
• If you or someone you are in close contact with is sick, do not enter the Town Hall or any other public place.
• Bring your own pen to conduct your transaction.

PUBLIC MEETINGS
Participation in public meetings is always a desire of the Town. Unfortunately, at this time, one of the primary recommendations of health officials is social distancing. Therefore, we encourage the public not to attend public meetings. We will continue to have meetings broadcast live or on tape delay to keep the public informed. We will also investigate the best options available to allow remote participation.

We are issuing these requests as a proactive step to minimize the risk of COVID-19 to employees and residents. The Norton Health Department remains in daily communication with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. As of today, March 14, there are no COVID-19 cases in the Town of Norton.

We continue to encourage residents to take everyday preventive actions, including:
• Wash your hands often by using soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
• If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
• To the extent possible, avoid touching high-touch surfaces in public places (for example, elevator buttons, door handles, handrails, handshaking with people, etc.).
• Use a tissue or your sleeve to cover your hand or finger if you must touch something.
• Avoid touching your face, nose, eyes, etc.
• Practice routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces (for example tables, doorknobs, light switches, handles, desks, toilets, faucets, sinks, and cell phones).

Watch for symptoms including fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you feel like you are developing symptoms, contact your doctor.

• Massachusetts Department of Public Health website
• Centers for Disease Control website
• Norton Board of Health

Our primary concern is the health and safety of our community and employees. We encourage you to check on your neighbors who may need assistance, especially those who may be of increased risk.

We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation. Norton is a strong community, and together we will endure this crisis.
