Hello to all, I hope everyone is ready for the overnight snow we are expecting tonight! I am writing to remind everyone that tomorrow, Monday March 4th , 2019 is the first non-holiday Monday of the month and, as such, is our monthly RACES/ACS drill night. I would like to thank all operators who assisted with last month's nets. This month we will again be operating the nets via remote net control stations as travel may still be challenging in the evening and access to the Bridgewater EOC may be limited. Sector 2D and the HF net have Net Control Operators already designated and ready to go. The other three remaining nets will need NCO coverage. If any operators would like to act as Net Control for any of this months nets they are asked to please e-mail me at WC1MAB at gmail.com. A copy of the preamble and logging sheets are available on the WC1MAB.org website. I ask that any operators who have the time, please try to check into sector nets from near-by sections. This will allow our newer Net Control Operators to practice fielding nets with a strong check-in count and will also serve to help practice with relays or modified sector assignments in the event that a single repeater is out of service. For those operators who serve as Net Control Operators, please try to remember to send me a list of the stations and communities that check into your nets. The numbers are reported to MEMA to show them our level of participation. I am also working on a graphical map based report to show which parts of our section have strong coverage and which areas may need a more targeted recruitment campaign to improve our ability to provide back-up communications in an emergency. The Region #2 and State Net Schedule for this evening is as follows:NetFrequency/OffsetTimeSector 2A147.00 /+0.60 PL19:30 LocalSector 2B145.39/-0.60 PL 67.020:00 LocalSector 2C146.955/-0.60 PL 88.520:00 LocalSector 2D146.865/-0.60 PL 103.219:30 Local6-Meter State Net53.31 / - 1.0 PL 71.919:00 LocalMA RACES HF Net3930 KHz LSB moving up to 3955 KHz until there is a clear frequency 18:45 Local As always, if anyone has been interested in participating as Net Control Stations, the call for operators is an open one. This is a great skill to practice and can be a big help for our region in the event that the State EOC is operating in lieu of the Region Office, but communications still need to happen. If any local RACES operators who have participated in nets recently are interested in acting as NCO please let me know and we will see how we can get you into the fray. As always, if anyone is receiving this note and does not wish to receive further messages of this kind, please reply and let me know. Also, if you know someone who would benefit from being on this list, please have them contact me at WC1MAB at gmail.com and I will add them to this distribution. Thank you all! If anyone has any questions or comments I can be reached by e-mail or cell phone. Thanks for being a part of our team and I look forward to hearing back on who can participate this month.Sincerely,Michael Leger (N1YLQ)MEMA Region 2Emergency Communications OfficerC: 386-566-7666
