Not a good way to start off the New Year, but I just received word that SMHARC club member
Mario Veiga WZ1K lost his valiant battle with Cancer and became a Silent Key at Pawtucket Memorial Hospital 
At 12:03PM this afternoon.

Mario was a great ham, being a great CW op especially at our Field Days. We will also remember the many years that he hosted our "July Meeting" at his house. The Portuguese "white Lightning" homemade booze was the downfall of some and the enjoyment of many.  Most of all Mario was a great friend and we will miss him deeply.

While arrangements have yet to be announced, we will keep you posted and post them as soon as they are known.
