Saturday, June 4th is a YMCA road race in Middleboro. It's a 5K and in need
of communicators. I was contacted again to do this and right now we're a few
people short. It's in the morning, I think we meet at 8, race goes off at 9,
anyone interested I can give you official times but that sounds right, we
get our assignments at 8 AM, race starts at 9, usually well on our way out
around 10:30, maybe sooner depending on where you are. Once they all pass
you you leave unless you're at the entrance to the camp they start and
finish from. It's pretty easy but we need people at a couple key spots and
have a couple maybes right now and I want at least 6 firmed up, 8 is better.
Extra people I can add, not enough people, can be a problem, we worked with
5 last year and had to have one of the early people passed go the wrong way
and get to one of the late spots. It's an easy one, like I said, once
everyone [asses you you leave. If weather's iffy, you can sit in your car,
if it's beautiful you can bring a lawn chair and sit, stand, one year I even
walked back and forth up and down the road just to check out the area until
they started getting close. If anyone's interested, let me know via email,
text, phone call, try calling me on the repeater. I might make it to
tomorrow night's meeting but I said that the last 5 months and something
came up and my coverage to watch the kids is totally up in the air right
now.
