The story can be heard (and read) at FIELD DAY VISITS AND CHALLENGING WEATHER TOOField Day offers so many wonderful opportunities to show off ham radioto the Public and share the joy of this hobby with others. Massachusetts amateur radio operators were honored by proclamationsfrom both Governor Baker and the Massachusetts Senate. Just in time forField Day weekend, I was able to send out a special email to the sectionabout this. I wish it had been possible to show the proclamations toevery club in EMA that set up for Field Day, but I will get them on theema.arrl.org web site very soon. As most know, especially if you participated at a field day site, theweather on Saturday was quite beautiful but Sunday was anything but. This curtailed to some extent the visits to many EMA clubs since travelon Sunday was difficult. I am aware of the following visits being madeat least on Saturday:Mike, K1TWF, NE Division Director and Tom, K1TW, EMA Section Managerjointly visited the following clubs on Friday and Saturday: Phillips Amateur Radio Club (PARC), Andover; Cape Ann Amateur Radio Association (CAARA), Gloucester; North Shore Radio Association (NSRA), Danvers; Clay Center Amateur Radio Club (CCARC), Brookline, Wellesley Amateur Radio Society (WARS), Needham; PART of Westford, Concord; Billerica Amateur Radio Society (BARS) in Chelmsford. Phil, K9HI, EMA Assistant Section Manager visited the Harvard WirelessClub on Saturday.Next year’s plan for EMA Section Manager Field Day visits will focuson Cape Cod and clubs in the southern parts of the section. I’d like to acknowledge the outstanding work done by Bill Ricker,N1VUX, in maintaining the Eastern Massachusetts Field Day web siteagain this year. What a fantastic tool, especially for a sectionmanager trying to plan a trip to multiple field day locations but alsoto anyone looking for a location to enjoy the field day experience.
