In answer to the question of: "Was I supposed to call in", the answer is Yes - to the RACES nets 
held on 2 meter repeaters all across the state last night. You do not need to hold a RACES appointment.

We want to get everyone active in Emergency communications in the state to both Send and Receive a 
formal message once per month to keep up practice. This record communication is used to track 
messages through relays, and to document when requests were made and filled. We often need to 
translate them to ICS format messages, which, is relatively easy.

The nets that were announced for Monday night are regular monthly events, and ALL stations are 
invited to participate. You will be asked to take a message, and deliver it to your local Emergency 
manager, and in some cases, send a formal message back to the originating station (not the person 
signing the message) that the message was delivered, and what time it was delivered. We want you to 
send the message via voice on some net. EMail or other digital responses are not helpful, nor are 
they the training that we are looking for everybody to have.
