Looking for RACES Radio Operators for the State EOC
We have been asked to recruit additional RACES Radio operators for the
State EOC to improve coverage for long duration events, and to improve
situational awareness for the State's Emergency Managers.
I am looking for licensed Hams of Technician Class or above (General or
above is best) with good people skills and good radio operation skills
for this group. Qualifications for these positions include interest in
gaining abilities/skills in
each of the following areas:
FEMA ICS Training IS100, IS700, IS800 training passed or a commitment
to pass them in 6 months or less.
Familiarity with 6 Meter, 2 Meter and UHF Repeater and simplex operation
Familiarity with HF Voice Operation
Echolink Operation
Winlink2000 Operation
WebEOC Operation
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and interact
with public safety officials in a manner respecting their
authority and the limits of our authority.
Ability to regularly attend monthly meetings and availability for
activations with 12 hour shifts when needed
Especially looking for people with Daytime and Overnight availability
Familiarity with ARES, RACES, MARS, SKYWARN
Knowledge of the ICS205 and ICS213 forms, also ARRL NTS message handling
skills.
Live or work within a ~30-45 minute drive of the State EOC in Framingham.
We have been given a new mission by State Emergency Managers, to provide
real time situational awareness during and outside of formal activations.
We will begin to develop operators to fill this new mission. If you
meet most of the above requirements, and have the interest in supporting
state Emergency Management, then please reply to me at n1cpe at arrl.net

the above qualifications.
