As a followup to my statement at the club meeting about Gov. Romney's
remarks on the Channel 5 program
Are we Ready Town Meeting, I replayed the tape to get an accurate
transcript.
During an exchange with moderator Natalie Jacobson on interoperability,
Natalie
asked the governor "would it ever come down to Ham Radio Operators?"
The governor's reply was "No we don't do the ham radio thing"
 
Two things  were apparent. the way he said the word no.
it was more of a Nah ! said with disdain and the second thing is the way
the answer was dismissive of the concept of Ham Radio in disasters.
 
I think he needs to be reminded of the technologies that Ham Radio
brings to the table and the number of emergency responder organizations
that rely
on Ham Radio during an emergency
