[W1SMH] The code question

Let’s seek ways of making the  qualifications for the Amateur License - be 
this the RAE or a new qualification  - more accessible and less expensive. Also 
shall we let the computers take over  ham radio? We need to encourage more 
individuals to become hams. NOT make them  study the old Morse code way. Its time 
we leave the past where it belongs and  make our future today. The only way 
to predict the future it to  create it today. Let’s move forward and leave the 
sacred code where  it belongs in the past. Are we always going to be non pro 
active? If you want to  keep our hobby alive embrace new ways of allowing 
licensure. Not in today’s  world make individuals study the sacred morse code. It 
belongs as I said in the  1940’s not in today’s world. If you like it then 
study it on your own.   
"Our hobby is in need of  stimulation. The numbers of radio amateurs are 
falling in many parts of the  world and this trend is an unhealthy one for the 
future of amateur radio. We  must be seen as progressive and forward looking. 
This position will be welcomed  by the majority of Radio Amateurs in the United  
States  who share the view that the we should take a forward looking and 
progressive  stance on the future of our hobby." 
Let’s move forward and bring  more members on the air. NOT chase them away 
with this sacred morse that is old  fashioned.
