Let’s seek ways of making the qualifications for the Amateur License - be
this the RAE or a new qualification - more accessible and less expensive. Also
shall we let the computers take over ham radio? We need to encourage more
individuals to become hams. NOT make them study the old Morse code way. Its time
we leave the past where it belongs and make our future today. The only way
to predict the future it to create it today. Let’s move forward and leave the
sacred code where it belongs in the past. Are we always going to be non pro
active? If you want to keep our hobby alive embrace new ways of allowing
licensure. Not in today’s world make individuals study the sacred morse code. It
belongs as I said in the 1940’s not in today’s world. If you like it then
study it on your own.
"Our hobby is in need of stimulation. The numbers of radio amateurs are
falling in many parts of the world and this trend is an unhealthy one for the
future of amateur radio. We must be seen as progressive and forward looking.
This position will be welcomed by the majority of Radio Amateurs in the United
States who share the view that the we should take a forward looking and
progressive stance on the future of our hobby."
Let’s move forward and bring more members on the air. NOT chase them away
with this sacred morse that is old fashioned.
