Hi Folks,

It's Monday evening and the weekend is over! "Ham Radio Expo - 2003"
turned out to be a great effort by more than 20 club members but yielded
very little interest. In attendance were one Boy Scout and his Dad from
Mansfield, one ham from Wrentham, MA and a gentleman from Attleboro and
his wife, who is very interested in getting licensed. It appears that we
also had to contend with a Little League Banquet and a Soccer
Tournament. That probably explains why we had so little activity from
Scouts... the rest, who knows?

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in putting
this event together. We've been planning this one for over six months
and there was plenty of effort exerted by a large number of members. I
apologize for the inability of our P.R. effort to bring more people in
the door. We had some really good coverage this time, too! Jeanette
Sears of the Sun Chronicle had a notice in the Community Section's
"What's Happening this Weekend" column on last Monday and they did a
small "blurb" again on Wednesday.

The feature article in tonight's Sun Chronicle, however, is the best
piece I have ever seen written on the club in a local publication.
Thanks to Jeanette and the staff at The Sun Chronicle for their effort
on our behalf. I'd also like to thank Barbara Miele of SMH Food
Services, Garey Meegan and the SMH Security Staff and the Hospital for
allowing us to run the event there. I hope to see everyone at the
business meeting tomorrow.
