I recently purchased an ICOM 706MKII and can not figure out what I am =
doing wrong. The instruction manual is confusing about setting repeater =
functions. I thought I was following the set up instructions properly =
for the SMH repeater but I can not get into the repeater. The quick =
split is on and is set at 0.6000 Q6 RPTR tone is 127.3. The power =
setting is 5 watts. The rec is at 147.195 and the txr is 147.795. I am =
putting out a signal at least I think I am my SWR meter shows about 1.5 =
when I transmit but nothing happens. =20
I am using a 2M plumbers J-pole about 15 ft in the air. I have =
installed a choke of 10 turns of RG-58 around a 1 in pvc pipe connected =
at the base of the antenna. =20
Can any of you who have a 706 tell me what I may be doing wrong?
Thanks!
