In order to celebrate the creation of the club, we are proposing a Ham =
radio Exposition, where the entire club will represent the many aspects =
of this hobby and what got us inside the hospital walls in the first =
place, the Blizzard of 1978. Hopefully this will strike up some =
interest in the hobby with our local communities as well.

One of the key elements that we intent to archive is to educate the =
Hospital staff and management, local public officials and the community =
in general regarding our preparedness and professionalism in handling =
emergency communications.

We intend to show our knowledge to the community by staging and =
operating HF stations, APRS stations, VHF/UHF stations, SSTV, PSK31 and =
perhaps a small stand related to Skywarn, where any one can get evolved =
and ask questions they might have. All these stations are still in the =
works, since we need to see where the event will be held and the amount =
of manpower available to support it. We plan to have reading material as =
well, since we're going to extend an invitation to scout groups, local =
recreation personnel, emergency management officials and the hospital's =
own management personnel and radio communications coordinators.

It seems that the most adequate area to stage this event would be the =
parking lot in front of the auditorium, because of the ease of access, =
plenty of parking and the accessibility to the hospital's personnel.

There will be advertising that will go with this, Jim N1IV will handle =
this delicate task as a PR person. Among other things Jim has contacted =
the following parties to get the word out regarding this event.

Ed Hennessy, N1PBA, the Eastern Mass Section Public Information =
Co-coordinator
Phil Temples, K9HI our Section Manager.
Mike Nielsen, W1MPN Section Emergency Co-coordinator.
Frank Murphy, N1DHW Affiliated Club Co-coordinator.
Rob Macedo, KD1CY District Emergency Skywarn Co-coordinator

This is an event that will ask for the support of every member of this =
club. We'll focus in the many ways that Ham radio can contribute within =
the hospital's emergency response plan as well as our communities in =
general. This event will require many helping hands, equipment and most =
of all a sharp personal presentation as a club and as communicators.
