Thursday evening I discussed the format I would like used by NCS =
stations during sky warn events. This is simple, & you should be able =
to remember it, in the event you are acting in the capacity of NCS =
during difficult operating conditions. =20
On the top line of the report I would like to have the following =
information; Date, Time, & NCS. Each entry on the report can be 2, or =
more, lines including; Call, Location, Report Time. Location should be =
general, city or town, if available. The time of the report could be =
important in tracking an event's progress. The last line should contain =
present conditions of the reporting station. One should refrain from =
giving wind speed, or temperature, reports unless you have accurate =
instrumentation to do so. Wind speed should be judged by the result =
thereof, size of tree limbs down for example. =20
If you find yourself acting in an NCS capacity, please gather the =
information, & email it to me in the above format. I will compile it =
into a larger report that I will forward along to NWS. =20
If you are not an NCS station, following this format should be helpful =
for you, as well as the NCS. =20
Thank you for taking the time to read this, as well as a round of thanks =
to all those of you who take the NCS position. =20
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, & I will attempt to =
answer.
