Hi all,
I've been meaning to do this for a while and finally got around to it.
THE FOX BOX IS UP AND RUNNING and is hiding like a wily fox will do. Catch
it if you can!! It is somewhere in Portsmouth, RI.
Claim your bragging rites now. Win the admiration of hams everywhere! Become
a STAR! Win a trip on the Space Shuttle! (well... not really) Ok, ok GOOD
LUCK.
The fox ID's with N1OHV / FOX in Morse code. It ID's every 10 min for 30
seconds on a frequency of 147.810 mhz. Output a whopping 2 (count 'em) 2
watts!
The fox will remain out until the battery dies, I am hoping to get 4 or 5
days out of it. This means NO BATHROOM BREAKS! (ask Roland).
My plan is to place the fox in a different location every Friday and leave
it out until the following Wednesday or so.
This will allow you to hone your hidden transmitter locating skills as YOU
have time.
There is a sign in list on the FOX. Please write your name, call, date and
time when you find it. I will be checking it occasionally and will post the
names of those who find it here.
HINT SECTION:
Start at the Portsmouth High School.
If needed I will post more hints.
Good Luck and 73,
Ted
P.S. I added the Ham-Bone guys as they might appreciate the practice (Ham
Balloons Over New England)
