Below please find a letter which I received from Bob, WA1IDA, regarding the
2002 BAA Marathon & envolvement by hams. Those of you who have participated
in years past have, or will soon, receive this same letter. It is my deep
wish that Hams will be asked to assist the BAA in future years. If you have
any questions, please feel free to ask.

To all hams supporting Amateur Radio on the Course of the Boston
Marathon:

Thank you for volunteering for the BAA Marathon in the past
years. Your presence on the team has made a valued difference.
I am sending out this message due to the increasing number of
inquiries this year. For 2002, neither I nor the Boston Amateur
Radio Club are coordinating the BAA Marathon Course
Communications.

Although the BAA and all the other organizations connected with
the race have been very satisfied with our support, the Red Cross
has chosen to furnish their own communications this year, and the
BAA has agreed.

We look forward to working with you at future events. If you
have any questions about this or any other public service event,
please contact us directly. If you would like to volunteer this
year for the BAA Marathon, please contact the BAA directly.

If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to
contact the undersigned.

Bob Salow, WA1IDA
