Another possibility, if you can find some old batteries still aesthetically
in good condx, would be to gut the original battery, preserving the battery
cases, and building a small solid state power supply inside. I once saw a
setup like t hat at the Dayton hamvention. The only way you could tell the
batteries weren't original was that each one had an a.c power cord
descretely attached to the bottom of the case. Even the sealing wax on the
B battery had been replaced with.original looking stuff.
