[Vintage-Audio] AR-4 Polarity

Hi All,

Yea, I know. Some days the blind wonder can not tell the bottom from the
top! Such is the case with these AR-4 speakers.

Now looking at one from the rear, with the speaker terminals on the right
hand side of the speaker, which one is positive? The top one or the bottom
one?

The only way I can figure this out on my own, is to pull the four staples
holding the grill cloth on the front and check to feel which way the speaker
cone moves when 1.5 vdc is applied across the rear speaker terminals! If the
cone moves forward, the polarity is correct. But if the cone moves
backwards, the polarity is reversed. However, I really do NOT want to take
the front cover off!

There are no markings on the terminals, or by the terminals, indicating
positive or negative. Nor is there any color code to give the user a hint.

Thanks for your assistance.
