Hi All,
I was just listening to some of the fabulous recordings done by the late
Marty Robbins. I know that he had an incredible band that worked with him,
but when he was recording in the studio who was on the piano? It sounds a
lot like the late Floyd Cramer. Was it?
What song was I listening to? Thought you would never ask! (LOL) The title
is something like "Lord This Time You Gave Me A Mountain". After the as
close to dead without being dead stroke that felled me last December 27th,
and what I have had to do recover my body functions so that I could live in
my house alone, I wanted to listen to that particular song today.
I also played "Don't Worry About Me" three, maybe it was five?, times! Now
what did they do to that guitar to make it sound so different? It sounds
like a reverb trick + what?
Then there is the bass guitar. How do they make it sound so sharp, almost a
snap to the notes? Somebody told me years ago that it was done using paper
wound around certain strings.
Thanks for the insights!
