[Vintage-Audio] Sources For New CD Players?

Hi Barrie,

My guess: One will have to have a high speed connection. Then be subscribed
to a music service. Then download the desired song or album to their music
device. Be that a computer or a portable HD or IPAD or whatever.

Quality? Seems like almost nobody cares about that nowadays. The analog
recordings that I have are vastly superior to the digital stuff. But then
again, I am an audio devotee!

There is probably going to be a few high end sound shops around that will
continue to market expensive stereo gear. I would not be surprised to see
smart audio tech's buy up good used audio gear, refurbish it and sell it
again! Nor would I be shocked to see some technically gifted people build
their own high end audio gear and sell it to insterested parties.

Personally, I resent what is being sold as "stereo" and digital sound
systems today. They EQ everything, you select the "kind of music", such as
Country, Oldies, Big Band etc., and the EQ settings of "their" choice are
what you get to hear! I want to handle the treble, mids and bass myself! But
the only equipment I can find that lets me be in control is no longer being
built and sold!

You can still buy a combo CD/DVD player, I think! But these too are going
away in the very near future.
