[Vintage-Audio] Cassette Audio Quirk?

My Sony CDRW does cassettes good. I set it on SBM/LIMITER/EQ off, usually, 
but run SBM somethines.Never noticed any distortion related to hiccups. 
Don't like limiters or eq in any form.
