Hello Bob,
I just checked my vinyl collection for Danny Davis and The Nashville Brass
to see if I had a copy of "The Wabash Cannonball". I thought I remembered it
on one of my three albums. Bingo! My first album, from 1969 titled "Movin'
On". I think it is the first song on side one. It definitely kicks butt, as
you put it.
Either my ears deceive me, or it is Floyd Cramer on keyboard! No mistaking
Floyd or the incomparable Nashville sound!
I got asked last night about Ray Stevens song about the "Titantic".
Something about a Black boxer Jack Johnson and being denied passage because
he was black. In this particular case, discrimination worked in Mr.
Johnson's favor! I have never heard this song, have any of you? When did it
chart?
If I remaster my three Danny Davis albums from vinyl to CD, is anyone on
this list interested in copies? Before you ask, I am "not" selling them.
Just sharing what I bought and paid for.
