[Vintage-Audio] Re Pirate Album Replications?

Hi All,

Yesterday I opened a sealed copy of the RCA Nashville stereo album "Floyd
Cramer: Class Of 1968". Released in 1968, supposedly.

I first noticed that it had no paper liner for the album to be stored in
inside the heavier outer cardboard album jacket. I thought this odd, as I do
not ever recall any other 'new' album being like this.

Then upon removing the actual album I discovered it was Dynaflex! Now unless
I am totally wrong here, Dynaflex was not put into the marketplace until
about 1971. Hence, this album could not be an "original" from 1968 with
Dynaflex!

I had a friend read me the jacket, both sides. No mention whatsoever of it
being re-released or re-issued. However, it does say it is Dynaflex!

The quality? Very poor. The second song on side #1 had a deep scratch in it.
The overall quality of all songs was only 'good' at best due to surface
noise that was built into the vinyl!

I have an original copy of this album that I purchased in 1968 and from the
outside, they appear identical. Whomever did the replication copied the
jacket perfectly, except for altering the text by mentioning Dynaflex! Which
there is no mention of on the original album jacket!

Have any of you encountered apparent fraud copies of albums? It may be
common, but this is the first one that I have personally become the unproud
owner of!

Thanks.
