Hey Robert,

Suggestion #1. Remove all the old, and probably somewhat solidified,
lubricant from everywhere you can. Then relube it with fresh grease. This
stuff tends to become a solid non-lubricating item after years of no moving
part exercise.

Suggestion #2. You are ten fold a better tech then I am, so I will not offer
you more of what you already know!

Alternative: While turntable is being healed; Send 'new' records to DBF for
remastering by the blind dude to "original
" sound - NO enhancements - on CD. For you Bob, it is a honor to do so.

Besides, when the metric ton of remastered vinyl albums to CD I shipped you
yesterday arrives on Saturday or Monday, you are going to be so busy
listening to part of my RCA Nashville Studio B collection that you may have
to set multiple alarms connected to mild shock rump cattle prod devices just
so you are alerted it is time to eat! Then again, you may not become as
engrossed in listening to 'real' music as I do! No matter. They should
provide enough of a temporary distraction to allow me to get the new albums
remastered to CD before you get the turntable issues resolved. So pack and
ship Robert!

Unrelated: I just bought the "new", yes, I said "new", album by the Eagles.
Their first actually new album in at least twenty-eight, maybe more, years.
No commercial here either for the Eagles, with Joe Walsh, WB6ACU, intended.
I will not mention the name of the nationwide discount department type chain
store, but the price was $11.88

The album contains two CD's. One with eleven tracks and one with nine. There
is also a small 3.75 X3.75 booklet in the compartment with the CD having
nine tracks.

Since Joe is a Ham, and a long time strong advocate for Ham Radio, I am
mentioning the new CD here.
