The most common problem is dried out lubricant.....
it becomes as hard as cold butter..... actually locks pieces together
that ought to be freely moving.
The first thing to do is remove it all with a solvent of some sort, and
then use the lubricants called out in the service manual.
Then, you can address the dried out rubber issue.
