I may even have the same CD of Nelson, and I realized some of the songs 
also did not sound
quite right.

One has to real the fine print on a lot of collections releases.  Many 
times, a cut, or sometimes
many of the cuts on a collection are remastered versions performed by 
"one or more" of the
members of the original group.
